Somatic Therapy in Austin for Trauma, Stress & Life Transitions
If you’re dealing with chronic stress, emotional pain, or traumatic experiences, your body is likely holding on to more than you know. You may feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Maybe you’ve tried traditional talk therapy, but something still feels off. That’s where somatic therapy can help.

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone
At BeCalm Therapy, I provide a safe space where you can slow down and connect with your emotions. This is your time to reconnect with your authentic self, release stuck energy, and find peace in the present moment.
Together, we’ll use tools from Somatic Experiencing Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness to explore what’s going on inside. These somatic therapy techniques help you shift patterns, calm your body, and create new ways of being in daily life, in your body, and in your relationship issues with loved ones.
This Is How We Heal
When we’re hurt, our bodies hold on to the impact. You may notice certain stress responses, like shutting down, staying on edge, or avoiding others. These are not bad behaviors. They are ways your body learned to survive.
In our work together, we gently follow these signals. We’ll use somatic practices and bodywork to help your nervous system find balance. Over time, your system learns that it’s safe to soften, safe to connect, and safe to live more fully, even after complex trauma.
What to Expect
Starting therapy can feel a little scary. That’s okay. You don’t need to have the right words or know what to do. As a licensed trauma therapist, my job is to help you feel safe and supported as we explore what’s going on in your body and mind.
In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you in. You can share as much or as little as you want. I’ll ask some gentle questions and explain how somatic therapy work helps with healing. Together, we’ll come up with a simple treatment plan that fits your goals and your pace.
During sessions, we’ll slow things down. I’ll guide you to notice your bodily sensations, things like tightness, warmth, or numbness. These sensations tell us where your body is holding stress, chronic pain, or memories. You’ll never be pushed to talk about anything you’re not ready for.
Sometimes we’ll use light movement, breathwork, or grounding tools to help your body feel more balanced. This helps your nervous system learn new ways to respond, instead of staying stuck in fear or overwhelm. You’ll learn how to come back to the present moment, even when things feel hard.
Every session is a chance to reconnect with your authentic self, to understand your inner world, and to begin letting go of what no longer serves you. This work is gentle, deep, and meant to support lasting change in your daily life.
